Durham Public Schools - provides data on participating children; teachers meet with H.O.P.E staff to discuss individual child needs and goals
Department of Public Health - taught a pregnancy prevention program for interested partner sites, TEAS II
Department of Social Services - referral source to CCFH social worker case management services
Durham Arts Council - artists provide program services to HOPE summer camps and after-school programs
Legacy Foundation - renovated the West End Teen Center's new multipurpose room
Walltown Children's Theater - offers dance, piano, and drama classes and hosts performances for H.O.P.E students
Child and Family Mental Health Center - offers ongoing mental and social health classes and a social worker counsels referred H.O.P.E students and families
Internal PartnersUniversity Departments
Project H.O.P.E brings together a number of Duke departments and programs to better serve the children and community centers with which it partners. These are:
Program in Education - offers service-learning classes that allow students to tutor and reflect upon experience working with HOPE kids
Duke Law Clinic - creates Memoranda of Understanding with partners, assists parents with school issues.
Duke Department of Community and Family Medicine - provides neighborhood clinics that serve HOPE children and families
Kenan Institute for Ethics - coordinates FIPSE grants and oversees "Scholarship with a Civic Mission"
Office of Instructional Technology - donates and manages computers for HOPE partner sites
Facilities Management - does renovations and groundswork for HOPE sites
Drama Departments - offers classes in community theater with sites
Center for Documentary Studies - works with students on visual and media projects for sites
Student Affairs - collaborates on student engagement through community service projects
Center for Child and Family Policy - helps in data collection and analysis
Office of Institutional Equity - provides diversity training for students working with HOPE children
Community Service Center - offers work-study jobs through America Reads/Counts to students at HOPE sites
Student Partners
Project H.O.P.E also works with a number of student groups who tutor and mentor children attending partner programs.
Project CHILD - gives first-year students the opportunity to step in to Durham and spend their freshman year volunteering two hours a week
Sigma Chi - volunteers once a week at the CommUNITY Scholars after-school program at Lyon Park
Girls Club - spends Wednesday evenings at the West End Teen Center teaching young girls how to deal with adolescent issues
Multicultural Dance Club - teaches West End Teen Center kids how to dance.
WOODS - visits the West End Children's Enrichment program to teach the kids about environmental issues and activities
University Scholars - tutors at Crest Street Tutorial Project
